Lead Pastor
Because I’d like to get to know you, I’ll share a little about myself for you to get to know me and we may have more in common that you might think.
Several things can be learned about me by where I’ve been. I was born on a farm in western Wisconsin, raised mostly in northern Minnesota, but finished my last two years of high school in Alaska. From those locales you shouldn’t be surprised that some outdoor experiences find their way into my messages.
I am a graduate of Florida Bible College and Canyonview Bible Seminar in Oregon. My wife, Barb is from Colorado, and we met at Florida Bible College and we have served the Lord together in children’s ministries in the housing projects in Miami, Christian schools, and four different churches. We have four children, born in three states and six grandchildren born in two other states!
Though I trusted Christ for salvation as a child, it wasn’t until my teen years that the reality of Christ in my life began to sink in. Encountering those who added works to the gospel gave me a life-long desire for God’s truth and a burden to share it with others. That desire fits our motto at Community Bible Church (CBC). “We preach Christ in the power of Christ, to present everyone perfect in Christ” -Col. 1:28-29.
So I invite you to consider the claims of Christ. His life-giving message called the gospel is the foundation for spiritual life! I want it to be crystal clear that while we are sinners, Christ died for us, (Romans. 5:8). Salvation is a matter of faith in Christ’s work and not in our works, (Ephesians 2:8-9).
The foundation of the gospel of grace comes from the dispensation of grace revealed to and through the apostle Paul. Recognizing that God establishes believers through the preaching of Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery (Rom. 16:25), I proclaim Christ accordingly.
I invite you to join us in the discovery of God’s Word in its natural context. In it we will find truth, relevant for your life today.
Grace to you,
Pastor Jeff Seekins
